  • Cameras For Kids Foundation, Inc.

  • Cameras For Kids Foundation, Inc. is a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) nonprofit public charitable organization founded in 2009 by Fine Art Photographer Betsey Chesler.

In the past, Betsey has volunteered at a number of Orphanages in South Africa, and that experience has allowed her to focus on the needs of children living without parents.  Worldwide there are 146 million children living in foster care and in the United States alone, there are currently over 500,000.

Cameras For Kids Foundation  is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the abandoned children by exposing the teens to the process of creating art through a camera's lens. CFKF uses photography to capture participants imaginations, to empower them, build confidence, self-esteem and open a whole new world for them to visualize and create.

  • Our Misson

  • Cameras For Kids Foundation, Inc. has been created specifically to provide underprivileged teens living in Foster Care the opportunity to have a camera and learn basic concepts of art and photography while fostering self esteem, self confidence and offering a skill set.

  • About Our Program

  • CFKF will work with teens to develop their personal artistic expression through use of a camera.  The program encompasses weekly workshops and assignments teaching basic concepts of art and photography, as well as teaching a new way  to "see" and develop a strong artistic eye.  The program promotes regular participation and involvement of each teen, encouraging self esteem, self confidence and offering the kids a creative skill set.
